Albus is one of the five 'Crayon Color Gang'.  This litter all had different color collars put on by the shelter.  Each of their names is either a Greek/German or Latin name of the color they were wearing when they came to us.

Albus is Latin for "white".  No, she was not named after Professor Dumbledore, but she does seem to be the top dog of the litter.  She has a way of bossing the others around.

Because they are pups, and recent aquisitions, we don't have much info on them.  However, this is what we have noticed so far.

She was the first one to have her ears stand up straight.  She is confident and willing to try new things.  She is learning her basic obedience and is starting to walk on a leash.  It appears the litter did not have much human contact before coming to rescue, but they are blossoming into wonderful pups and will be amazing dogs.

Albus is crate trained and is doing well with potty training.  She has a good appetite and is learning to take treats nicely.  Albus would do best with a family that has had a German Shepherd before.  We recommend a commitment of training for a minimum of two years or more.  She has great eye focus and loves playing with balls and toys.

We carefully choose homes for our puppies as they require owners who are home enough, and have the time, energy and patience to guide the puppy through their chewing, digging, and mouthing stages (which can last through adolescence), and who will provide regular exercise, socialization and training so the puppy will grow up to be a mannerly adult dog. All puppies bark incessantly, dig, and destroy things if they are left alone for long periods of time, and thus, need to be with owners who do not leave them alone for long hours.
