Rueleum is one of the five 'Crayon Color Gang'. This litter all had different color collars put on by the shelter. Each of their names is either a Greek/German or Latin name of the color they were wearing when they came to us. Rueleum is Latin for Blue.
It appears the litter did not have much human contact before coming to rescue, but they are blossoming into wonderful pups and will be amazing dogs. Because they are pups, and recent aquisitions, we don't have much info on them. However, this is what we have noticed so far.
Rueleum is happy and playful. At first she was taking her time, building her confidence and learning to explore. She has progressed through this shyness and now she’s actually a little outgoing, willing to learn and very loving.
She is crate trained, potty trained, and she knows her 'sit' command. She is learning the 'down' command and leash training at the moment. She is very food motivated, which facilitates training.
Is Blue the color for you?
We carefully choose homes for our puppies as they require owners who are home enough, and have the time, energy and patience to guide the puppy through their chewing, digging, and mouthing stages (which can last through adolescence), and who will provide regular exercise, socialization and training so the puppy will grow up to be a mannerly adult dog. All puppies bark incessantly, dig, and destroy things if they are left alone for long periods of time, and thus, need to be with owners who do not leave them alone for long hours.
