Good Golly Miss Holly - She's had a hard, fragmented life and is still looking for that special forever home.
Holly was three years old when she was originally adopted from the Stockton shelter in 2015. Between 2015 - April 2021, she lived with that family. Holly is now eight years old.
In early April, Holly was picked up as "a stray" with a horrendous tumor hanging from her belly. The vet estimates the tumor was about 2-3 years old. When the family was called, they decided to surrender her and told the shelter to euthanize her.
Thankfully neither the shelter nor their partner, Animal Protection League (APL), would euthanize Holly. APL put a call-out for a Rescue and Golden State answered that call. We wanted to give Holly a second chance because...isn't that what Rescue is all about?
A kind Samaritan paid for her surgery, which was successful. It has taken a few weeks but under the watchful eye and loving wings of her foster mom, Holly has fully recovered and is now ready to find her forever home.

With everything she has been through, Holly has remained sweet, accommodating, and is a perfect houseguest. She appears to be good with dogs and kitties, is housebroken, and is comfortable in a crate. Her foster mom reports Holly is "a dream" on a leash, she walks at your pace, she knows several commands, is easy to handle, and has been really good around her young grandchildren.
This lovely lady has been through a lot, and deserves a comfortable, loving and committed home for her senior years.
