To honor our medical staff and first repsonders during this crazy time, Damien "Doc" is just the right boy to take your mind off of quarantine and get you out of the house.  Damien is a young, active, tri-color "mostly" GSD, that is a really great boy.  He tested well in the shelter yard with a female GSD as well as some chiuauaus.  He has the basics down for training, such as sit, down, shake, but needs work on leash and his intro's to other dogs. He's a young derpy boy that thinks everyone want to play with him.  He does like to bark when trying to get the other dog to play.  He is a bundle of energy, but calms quickly.  He does need work walking on leash, as he likes to pull, but didn't show any signs of leash reactivity.  He rides quietly in the car and didn't seem to get too excited when he saw dogs outside of the car.

He was an owner surrender to the shelter, but we heard he had been a stray in 3 different counties this year, so it's amazing that he seems to be a well trained and well taken care of dog.  He settled in very well during his evaluation and connected quickly to each human in the test yard.  Damien is a good size at 68 pounds, and he could have more growing to do, but probably not too much more.

Damien would do well in an active home where he would get lots of exercise each day (more than just a walk here and there).  He was a bit pushy with the female GSD, but he learned to back down very quickly.  We don't know if he has a prey drive, but I wouldn't recommend him to a house with cats, just to be safe.
