See me at the next Adoption Day!
Avery is a petite girl! She is only about 46 lbs and has a shorter stature. She was found as a stray in Oakland, and looks to have had a litter or two. She is underweight, but very sweet and food motivated. She is good with dogs and a bit shy around people but quickly warming up (especially if you have food). It's apparent that she was handled rough, but still seems trusting and is happy to be in a quiet home.
Avery is doing well in her foster home with 2 GSD's and the 2 females are learning how to get along. She shows no resource guarding with people, and is getting better at sharing her toys. Avery is an excellent office doga and does well meeting people at work and listens very well so as not to stray too far away from her foster.
She walks well on leash, and shows a keen interest in other dogs and very curious/excited to see them, but calls off if she gets too hyped up. She has shown no leash reactivity and has done great meeting all dogs. She has seen a cat and didn't really react to it as it slowly walked by. She does show a prey drive for squirrels, but I think a cat can be workable. She moves in quickly to meet smaller dogs, so I believe with training, she will be fine with small dogs.
She has slept through the night in her crate, seems house trained and has been left alone in her crate for 2 hours - the crate was intact but the bed was shredded, so when leaving, only use towels and no bedding!
