Elliot is a wonderful, active, senior dog:   about 8 yrs old.   He must have been a stunning young male dog, as he still has a sparkle in his eye and a playful personality.   He is in good health for his age. He likes walks, walks well on a leash, plays ball, and loves people.   He alarm barks like a good GSD should!   He makes us laugh because his age has not made him any less of a GSD.  He still is noble with a picture of beauty.  Elliot made friends with one of our other dogs: Slim.  We have had much laughter watching this large, senior dog trying to entice Slim to play with him.  He was successful and Slim became a good friend.  Elliot's owner lost his home and the rental would not allow large dogs, so Elliot was given the the animal shelter.  Typically, senior dogs do not get adopted and many are euthanized at the shelter.  However, we were called to see if Elliot would be able to come into our program, as he was such a great dog.   So, as you can see, he is here with us and safe.  He is located in Folsom in foster care.  We would be happy to make special adoption arrangements for Elliot,  he needs somewhere to spend his senior years.   He would be OK with an easy (or older) dog, but he does not want other dogs to jump on him or be too rough.   His owner states that he is good with children and all people and is OK with cats (however, he will need slow introduction with new cats).  Elliot will chase squirrels!
