See me at the next Adoption Day!

Melody (aka Mel) is a smart, energetic, young German Shepherd.  She weighs about 60 lbs already and has a soft coat.  Her rescuer found her through a newspaper ad showing her tied to a post.  Although, she wasn’t able to keep her, she taught her to Sit, good leash manners, and gave her a chance to be loved by a family.  Our rescue took her into the program once a foster home was available.

Mel is good with other dogs once she meets them and is learning not to bark upon seeing them. She plays well with a male dog in her current home. She shows too much prey drive to live with a cat.

Melody is a super affectionate dog who loves to sit by you in the evening and be cuddled. She has a good alarm bark but does not bark unnecessarily. She is house broken using a doggie door. She does not care for the crate and sleeps loose in the bedroom. Mel loves to play fetch, especially with squeaky toys. She will need daily exercise to keep her happy.

Melody is looking for an experienced home to continue her training. She still has some puppy behaviors and needs supervision.  She will be learning not to get on the bed (or kitchen table) and all the usual house manners a dog should have. Due to her energy level and need for consistency, any children in the home should be dog-savvy and over 13 yrs of age.   Let us know if you would like to meet her.
