Jackson is a cute, 5 years old, male German Shepherd.  He has been living with two small children and a cat and done great.  Baby 3 was on the way and the parents realized they would not have the time for Jackson.  Jackson is housebroken and has been a good family dog. He is a little confused what happened to his previous family and so does not want to be left alone or he will cry.  He is ok if left with another friendly dog.  Or if you are home and put a bed outside that is by the sliding door.  But right now he is not ready to be alone for hours at a time.  He is fine sleeping in the bedroom with you at night.  Jackson has good house manners and tends to be on the talkative side.  He did not receive much training from his previous family and will get confused if you grab him and try to pull him around.  But he likes to be encouraged to try new things.  Jackson is very easy on the leash and is friendly with other dogs. He wasn't around other dogs in his previous home so he is somewhat of an awkward player, but the friendly female German Shepherd in his foster home is teaching him the basics.  Jackson is good with cats.  Jackson thrives as part of a family that is home a lot and that will have a little patience for him to adjust to the new routine in his new home.  He'd love to be a companion on walks or hikes and will lay around blissfully while you work.
