Female 2.7 years

Ready for Adoption Added August 21, 2024

Akari was adopted in February.  Unfortunately, her adopters are unable to keep her due to long-term and on-going medical issues and they felt it would be best to find Akari a new home, one where she could get the time, attention, and exercise she enjoys.

Sweet, gentle Akari was picked up by Animal Control in Stockton running the streets in June with no I.D. tag or microchip. In August she was still unclaimed by an owner. With only 15 minutes to spare, Akari was saved from euthanasia.

In Japanese, Akari means “Light” and the name fits her personality well.

She has unlimited potential and love for people. Akari is housebroken, crate trained, is great with people of all ages and good with male dogs including small ones. She will be a loyal companion for someone or a family who is active as she loves to go on walks and hikes.
