Harley is a stunning Silver/Black German shepherd who was found running the streets of Stockton.  Picked up by Animal Control on May 27, he was not microchipped and his owners never came into the shelter to reclaim him.  By August, Harley was added to the shelter's euthanasia list.

Although the shelter aged Harley at three years old, he behaves more like an adolescent.  And as with most dogs we see, Harley most likely did not receive proper training and guidance during his young life.  For this reason, Harley will require a "calm assertive" handler (The “calm” means being level-headed and never reacting with emotion. The “assertive” means [the handler] being a strong presence to give your dog confidence) and a handler who can and will establish "Rules, Boundaries, and Limitations" with him.

Harley loves the company of people and is comfortable with people of all ages.  He loved playing with Johanne's grandkids and eagerly met Cynthia's friends, Tom and Heinz, when they came by for a visit.  And although Harley is being fostered with other dogs, he may prefer the solitude of being an only dog but maybe be OK living with a cat.  However, caution should be key when introducing and socializing him to cats.

Harley is also housebroken and crate trained.  He is great on a leash, is not reactive towards anything, and is a great traveler.

Cynthia can't say enough great things about him "he's super easy", is settling in well, and has "good inside house manners".
