Frodo was within minutes of being euthanized when GSGSR saw his shelter post and decided to step in to foster him….and we are SO glad we did!
Frodo is a fun-loving Shepherd mix who truly appreciates being given a second chance at life. He is young (2 yrs old,) curious, affectionate and a happy-go-lucky pup who loves to please.
- He knows the basic commands “sit”, “wait”, and “down”
- He is a joy to walk, heeling nicely and non-reactive on a leash.
- He also has pretty good recall and is easy to correct. A firm “NO” does the trick.
- Frodo is also crate trained and housebroken and is an excellent traveler.
- He loves to play fetch, but his favorite pastime is running and playing with his foster sibling, Maggie. They love to play “chase me." However, Frodo can be quite the linebacker when he plays, and is learning how to manage his exuberance.
Frodo would do best with older dogs that can and still want to play, and a kitty-free home would be best. An active person or couple would be his dream family, and he would love to become someone’s walking, hiking or jogging partner.
He is true to his name...Frodo Baggins. He is heroic not because of strength or skill, but for his loyalty to his friends.
