Foster Update 2.28.19: "Chip is house trained, walks calmly on leash, & plays well with other dogs. He is crate trained and sleeps calmly through the night. He is currently living with a pack of 5 other dogs, so he is very well socialized!"
Chocolate Chip was seen wandering the streets in Stockton until someone was able to catch him. He was found with a bad neck wound. It appears a larger dog grabbed him around the neck and gave him puncture wounds. However, the X-rays revealed no internal damage. The little guy then developed a bad case of kennel cough and is recovering from that. He was shy at first coming out of his kennel, but he warmed up to the foster's 7 year old granddaughter, so she named him Chocolate Chip because he is so sweet and looks like a cookie.
We carefully choose homes for our puppies as they require owners who are home enough, and have the time, energy and patience to guide the puppy through it's chewing, digging, and mouthing stages (which can last through adolescence), and who will provide regular exercise, socialization and training so the puppy will grow up to be a mannerly adult dog. All puppies bark incessantly, dig, and destroy things if they are left alone for long periods of time, and thus, need to be with owners who do not leave them alone for long hours.
Adoption Fee includes spay or neuter, vaccinations including rabies, worming, microchip, and a collar.
